The Dole Que'

I recently put my newest edition to The Elf's Internet library online, it's a social network for people who are unemployed, seeking work, or working for themselves.

The whole idea behind The Dole Que' is to have a simple medium for people to share work ideas with one another, or even just forget about the worries and mingle!

I will be the first to admit that social networking sites are a great tool. They are a brilliant way to connect to people on the other side of the world, who share the same interests as you. But isn't that really what they should be? A tool or a service to help you connect online? If you take a walk down High Street on a busy afternoon you're guaranteed to here the word “Bebo” echo through your ears on more than one occasion. “Bebo me later”, “I'll Bebo you tonight”, “Are you on Bebo?” It's a word that you can't miss, and like many things, you either hate it or love it.

Bebo, Myspace, Facebook...all words we are sure to hear almost everyday. That's because social interaction on the web is at sky high levels at present. It's gone more from something you do on the internet for a short while when you have time, to something that needs to be done in many peoples daily routine. Most people have more friends online now than in 'real' life.

WHAT IS SOCIAL NETWORKING?

SocialEye is a new service offered by Elf Knows IT. It is a social networking tool, where you can find out all you need about social networking, and what goes on with it.

• Teenagers can use it to find out the true facts about social networking, and learn about cyber-bullying, and what can be done about it.
• Parents can use SocialEye to learn exactly what goes on in the world of social networking, and what their children might be getting up to on the internet.
