Soccer blankout for the weekend

KILKENNY soccer fixtures secretary John Corrigan of Callan is a brave battler.
He will go right down to the wire to save a fixtures programme or even a single fixture in a bid to finish the soccer season on time.
But he is quite helpless in the current situation.
All John's fighting qualities are of snow use in the present treacherous weather.
So it was no surprise when he uttered the words of disappointment today, Thursday. "All soccer is off at the weekend," the highly efficient Kilkenny & District League official told Kilkenny Alive.
Which of course means that not a football will be kicked in anger at schoolboys, youths, junior or ladies level in the local game.
