KILKENNY Co Council have just issued an emergency telephone number for people in trouble.
The Emergency Response Number is 056-7794145.
This can be used by people who are marooned and may need help with foodstuffs or medicines.
The message to people is to ring only when essential.
Roads are still treacherous and the advice is not to get behind the wheel of a vehicle unless the journey is vital.
