AS THE count continues in the Citywest Hotel in Dublin, to elect a new President of the Irish Farmers' Association, Kilkennyman John Bryan from Inistioge, is in an unassailable lead.
He is currently on 664 votes with his nearest rival, outgoing IFA Vice-President Derek Deane, from Hackettstown, Co Carlow, trailing by over 300 votes at 355.
The third candidate Richard Kennedy from Clarina, Co Limerick, the IFA's National Dairy Chairman, has 171 votes.
